【摘要】:1.1Thisguideprovidesinformationonperformancefactorssuchasmovement,constructiontolerances,andothereffectsthatshouldbeaccountedfortoproperlyestablishsealantjointsize.Italsoprovidesprocedurestoassistincalculatinganddeterminingtherequiredwidthofasealantjointenablingittorespondproperlytothosemovementsandeffects.Informationinthisguideisprimarilyapplicabletosingle-andmulti-component,cold-appliedjointsealantsandsecondarilytoprecuredsealantextrusionswhenusedwithproperlypreparedjointopeningsandsubstratesurfaces.1.2Althoughprimarilydirectedtowardstheunderstandinganddesignofsealantjointsforwallsforbuildingsandotherareas,theinformationcontainedhereinisalsoapplicabletosealantjointsthatoccurinhorizontalslabsandpavingsystemsaswellasvariousslopedbuildingsurfaces.1.3Thisguidedoesnotdescribetheselectionandpropertiesofjointsealants(),whicharedescribedbyGuideC1299,northeiruseandinstallation,whichisdescribedbyGuideC1193.1.4ForprotectiveglazingsystemsthataredesignedtoresistblastandothereffectsrefertoGuide1564incombinationwiththisguide.1.5Thisguideisnotapplicabletothedesignofjointssealedwithaerosolfoamsealants.1.6ForstructuralsealantglazingsystemsrefertoGuideC1401incombinationwiththisguide.1.7ThevaluesandcalculationsstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesandinch-poundunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.SIunitsinthisguideareinconformancewithIEEE/ASTMSI10-1997.1.8TheCommitteehavingjurisdictionforthisguideisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
